Sandbelt Men’s Triples Championship 2024/25

 

Three of the RSLs finest played off in the Sandbelt Men’s Triples Championship. 

Jim Westhead, Gary Nash and Paul Fuzzy Housden won the following games to make it to the Grand Final.  

Round 1 v Armadale 17/8

Round 2 v EEBC 24/7

Quarter Final v Mixed 15/14

Semi Final v Middle Park 20/13

The Grand Final was played on Sunday at Cheltenham against previous Sandbelt Champions.  

The boys took to the green as clear underdogs yet their true Digger spirit kept them in the game and had them all tied up at 13 all going into the last end. 

With all bowlers playing well throughout the game the last end saw Fuzzy put his first bowl on the jack which could not be moved and the Hampton RSL were victorious. 

Grand Final v Mentone 14/13

This Sandbelt Championship win is the first in the club history. 

Congratulations to Jim Westhead, Gary Nash and Paul Fuzzy Housden on their amazing win and to all the loyal RSL supporters for cheering them home. 

The boys will head to Bendigo in April to play other regional winners in the State Championships.
