One of Bayside’s best kept secrets?

One of Bayside’s best kept secrets?

Tucked away in a small residential pocket just across the road from the beach where New Street meets Beach Road, is the Hampton RSL. In fact, HRSL has occupied this site at 25 Holyrood Street, Hampton since May 1952, when the old homestead “Wearside” was purchased. Over the decades the appearance has changed and continues to develop but our core values still stand.

Within the club we have seen the arrival and riddance of poker machines, the growth of sporting clubs within the Hampton RSL Sub branch, the continued support of welfare and care of our veterans and the staunch belief that we are a community club – a hub for the Bayside community to come and enjoy the available spaces, opportunities for involvement and a place to enjoy great music and camaraderie.

The Bayside community profile is predominantly residential with only very small pockets of industrial areas. In other words, it is an affluent area. While eateries and wine bars abound, there are extremely few oases, where a quiet drink with a few friends at ridiculously low prices can be found. Nor is it easy to find a truly genuine pub style offering of snacks and meals at ridiculously low prices. Except at HRSL. Yes, it’s true; we do offer incredibly low prices for food, wine and beer.

Great bands play most Saturday nights – also with ridiculously low admission. Morning Melodies woos the crowds on the second Tuesday of the month. There are function rooms and meeting rooms and menus to match your event. Angling, Bowls, Bridge, Golf or Snooker – members are welcome to join any of our sporting clubs. Hampton RSL has it all – so why not come on down and check it out.

These are just some of the irresistible benefits to becoming a member of Hampton RSL. Being a non-gaming club (and proud of it), we rely on our memberships and support of events to keep us alive and thriving. We don’t want to remain Bayside’s best-kept secret forever, so come on down to 25 Holyrood Street, and see what we have to offer.

Membership Forms are available at the club or you can download them here.  Fees are a mere $70 per annum with a discount option for three years. You’ll more than make that up with the discounts offered for members. More info on our website pages or call the office for further information.

We look forward to meeting you soon.
