Welfare

The RSL and its volunteers provide assistance to past and present service personnel when in need with a range of financial and non-financial support services.

The Hampton RSL Sub-Branch offers limited welfare services, however a full range of services can be found on the RSL Victorian Branch website.

Hampton RSL is keenly involved in all recognised appeals, raising money to maintain and build support programs for past and present service personnel. This assistance reduces the burden of expenses such as:

  • Grocery shopping
  • Outstanding household bills
  • Medical and hospital expenses
  • The cost of mobility aids such as wheelchairs, scooters and walking frames
  • Household repairs and maintenance
  • Funeral costs

In addition, volunteers offer non-financial support to members in the form of home and hospital visits providing both physical and emotional care, support and assistance.

Vales

As a mark of respect, upon the demise of a member, our Sub-Branch places a Vale, or Death Notice into the Public Notices of the Melbourne Herald-Sun newspaper. Additionally, we would wish to inform our members of the death on our website. Should your departed loved one have been a current Sub-Branch member, we would deem it a great privilege to honour his or her memory in this manner, as well being able to publicly extend our condolences. Please call on (03) 9598 0460 with this in mind.
